Good morning everyone!!!  I hope you had a joyous Thanksgiving!  I went to my mom’s with my daughter and grandson.  Again, my mom totally rocked the kitchen!!!  She is the best cook ever!  She made turkey, wild rice stuffing, cranberries from scratch, mashed potatoes and gravy,  and Aiden’s favorite… sweet potatoes with marshmallows.  YUMMO!  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

What am I thankful for this year??? I am thankful for my friends and family and my health.  I am grateful to have a beautiful home and a job that I can earn enough to pay my bills and still have a little left over to explore life and enjoy fishing.  I have made many wonderful friends in the past year and I look forward to many adventures in the next year.

Take a moment to reflect on your life and give thanks for the many blessings you have in this life.  Consider all the things you take for granted… And last of all… do something good for others.  If you can change the lives of one person at a time – DO IT!!!

I know you are all waiting to get my spearing report.  I was planning to head to Rainy River after Thanksgiving dinner, but the warm temperatures had compromised the ice.  It had hardened and thickened by Saturday but I had committed to attend and judge the Grand Rapids decoy show.  Jeff and Ricky… Awesome job.  The silent auction and door prizes were excellent.

Congratulations to all the carvers.  Your work just keeps getting better every year.  There are no longer 1 or two top guys.  The competition was amazing this last show.  Judging was fun and took longer due to the high quality and detail all of you put into your work.  Well done!!!!

My friend NorthernGirl LeeAnn  speared on Saturday and saw 20+ fish.  She got her limit of course and had a great meal.  People… if you want the best spearing action in Minnesota go to Rainy River and rent one of Gary Hull’s darkhouses.  You will have a worry free experience.  The houses are clean, warm and placed in excellent locations.  LeeAnn prepares a nice meal at the end of the day and Gary helps you clean your fish.  What more could you want?  Gary has lodging but make your reservations early.  If you have a big group there are many wonderful resorts along the river and on Lake of the Woods.  For more information see Gary’s website @ www.hulldecoys.com

Keep living and loving your life.  I look forward to hearing about your Thanksgiving hunting and fishing adventures. Take care and have a blessed week.
