Yesterday I went on the Flood Run with Scott.  What an awesome day.  Thousands of bikes and we met so many terriffic people.

We started out at 9:45 AM and took 61 up to 94.  We prepared for the cold morning temperature with a thermal shirt, a long sleeve shirt, my harley hoodie and my leather coat and chaps.  I wore thick socks, a warm stocking hat and gloves….  I won’t lie!!!!   It was still pretty chilly.  As we were crusing down 94, a motorcycle group passed us at about 80 MPH.  Talk about hard core.  The ladies were wearing jeans, and sweatshirt hoodies and their hair in ponytails.  No hats, no gloves, no leathers… Yikes.. One girl was riding on a bitch pad on her boyfriends fender.  Hats off to you girls!!!  I am not that hard core anymore.

We then proceeded to Prescott and stopped at The No Name Saloon to have coffee and buy our wristbands.  There were several thousand motorcycles up and down the street and on the side streets in a 3 block radius.  We hung out long enough to check out a few bikes and warm up.

Our next stop was the Nauti Hawg.  We were there the weekend before and I ordered a shirt and picked it up.  This bar and grill has customer service dialed in…  Everything was well organized and everyone was having a great time.  The band was playing the blues.  We had a couple Gin & Tonics!!!  (afterall…. it was 5 O’Clock somewhere)

We then drove through Hager City and Bay City before stopping at Maiden Rock.  That is a great town and I couldn’t believe how many bikes were there.  I saw a gal in a beautiful fox hat standing on the railroad tracks.  I asked her to take a photo.  She told me she got her hat at a vendor booth down by the water a few years ago.  We decided to go take a look and I tried a few on.

Scott thought they looked awesome on me and that a true NorthernGirl would wear it well.  I was working with the vendor trying to decide which one looked the best and to decide if I would splurge and buy one.  After 15 minutes I grabbed the vendor and said “wrap it up and I will take it.”  He told me “Sorry….unfortunately someone else had already bought it.”  I was so disappointed and I looked towards the cash register and there was Scott with a giant smile on his face.  He was paying for my hat.  What a sweetheart!!!  I wore it the rest of the day and had the normal male reactions everywhere we went.  Hey Foxie….  Can I pet you?  That hat is almost as foxy as you…  Can we cuddle?  Blah blah blah..  But I did feel sexy and it sure got the looks going down the road.  It is the warmest and most beautiful hat I have ever owned.  Thanks Scott!  It will be awesome on the ice and in my fish house this winter.

Now for one of the best stops.   Gelly’s Pub and Eatery in Stockholm, Wisconsin.  W 12128 Hyw 35…  They had an excellent set up for bikers.  It was not a scheduled stop, but we were hungry and they had a nice patio set up with a awesome blues band.  The female singer had the most amazing voice.  Wayne Gelhar and Diane (Mrs. G.) took the time to come see how we were doing personally.  They asked about the food and the service and I told them it was excellent.  The bartender was really nice and it is a place we will definitely go back to.  The Gelhar’s have owned the place 6 years and it was absolutely charming.  The yard behind the bar was like a little garden sanctuary.  We decided to end our run and start to head back to Prescott to have a short visit to The No Name Saloon before heading home.

When we arrived we sat on the covered outdoor patio and two swings at the bar were open.  I saw a pretty lady with a fur hat and I had to go meet her.  Her name is Amy and I started talking to her and her boyfriend about fishing and my website.  I discovered that Amy is an avid fisher woman as well.  She will be emailing me photos from her Canadian adventures and I will share them with you when they arrive.  Thanks Amy!  I really hope the 4 of us can ride next weekend and talk fishing.  I wish I had thought to have someone take a photo of us in our hats.  Hopefully we can make that happen soon.

I also met Larry who is a technical specialist at the Minnetonka Hennepin County Library.  Hello Larry.. Hopefully you and your friends will enjoy my website.  We also met some very nice ladies at the bar that were quite fun to talk to.  Thanks everyone for a great day and all the fun times.

I just finished making a kettle of Minnesota Wild Rice Creamy Chicken Mushroom soup.  I am going to hang out with my beautiful daughter Adriana and any other friends that may stop by… I hope you have an excellent day with your friends and family.  Take time to re-connect with your loved ones and enjoy the rest of your day!   I love you all!!!
