How was 2010? What is your New Years resolution??? I am relaxing today after a nice evening with my neighbors Stan, Mary and Bill, and my daughter and her friend Ashley. They all came over to play a game of Catch Phrase and have a wonderful meal together…. You know how I love to cook. Mary was the rock star last night (as usual) and brought over Beef Wellington and a wonderful salad. I made creme brulee and it was yummo. My neighbors are such great friends. It was perfect to be with them on New Years. Thank you Stan and Mary for all your love and support throughout my difficulty this spring….
Everything in life happens for a reason. On the fall flood run , I met a fantastic woman, Walleye Amy!!! Amy and I met up at Lake of the Woods over Christmas and had a blast spearing fish and spending time with our “Best Man”, decoy carver Gary Hull.
When Amy came up Monday I really had fun. We were all set up and spearing and some snowmobiler’s came up to fish in our area. It was prime time so I went outside to voice my disapproval. I said… Come on you silly boys…hurry up and drill your holes and then be quiet… It is fishing time… They were from Forest Lake and Rochester. Mr. Rochester… Too bad we were leaving the next day and sleeping on your snowmobile… If you would like a raincheck on that ice dance…. shoot me an email…. Mr. Forest Lake grocer… You make some darn good snowshoe grog. Please contact me about your business products and I will post a link to your site.
I had the privilege of spearing fish with Gary’s girlfriend LeeAnn and on Christmas day helping her pull her 1st 40″ pike out of the water. It was so exciting!!!! Thanks for the fun ice dance LeeAnn!!! I wish we had it on video. When she got her fish we were jumping, high fiving, hugging and laughing and celebrating out on the ice. The adrenaline was flowing.
Amy & I decided to make our exit Thursday before New Years knowing a severe storm was in route. We woke up to freezing drizzle and snow on the way. I had a bad wiper and a wonderful guy named Chris at NAPA in Baudette helped me with a set of winter blades. Thank you Chris and thanks for checking out my site. I want to see you spear a 50 inch pike. Email me photos of anything you guys get over 40″ and I will post your photos.
But the best thing that happened to me this year was when Jane Litchy suggested I friend Gary Hull on Facebook. Gary and I became quick friends with such love for the sport of spearing. We also love the art of decoy carving. Gary thank you so much for opening your heart, life, and home to me and Amy this past week. We are friends for life. I love you and LeeAnn and I look forward to many more spearing/fishing adventures to come. LeeAnn – I think it is cool that you guide bear hunters. Maybe Amy and I will try next year. Send me photos and I will send you referrals.
What are my dreams for 2011??? I am going to focus more on myself and getting back into really great shape. I miss my athletic physique. I also want to spend more time making friends that love to fish, hunt, snowmobile, boat, go to cabins, etc…. I love adventure and I love making friends that love adventure too.
Okay friends, I hope you had a great year and I hope that you get out and live life & love your life in 2011. Check the site Tuesday and will have photos from the weekend.
Love to you all,
NorthernGirl Tammy
